Kızılay-Çayyolu Metro Line Construction work started on 09.27.2002. Building and construction works in three stages. There are a total of 16 590 meters line and 11 stations. First step of this line is Söğütözü(Aşti)-Ümitköy, second step of this line is Söğütözü-Necatibey, third step of this line is Kızılay-Çayyolu.
Institution Building and construction work was carried out until April 2011. The remaining jobs were transferred to the Ministry of Transport on 04/25/2011.
On 13.12.2011 the Ministry related to this line finishing work has begun to work on making the contract tender and 09.02.2012. Service was opened on March 13, 2014.
TOTAL LINE LENGHT: 16.590 m.

Crescent-Çayyolu metro lines occurred before the transfer to the Ministry of Transport stages are as follows.
1. STEP (AŞTİ- ÜMİTKÖY)
The line is 8600 meters lenght and consist of six stations between from Söğütözü (AŞTİ) to Ümitköy stations. Building and construction work started on 09.27.2002, this line has been completed.
2. STEP (NECATİBEY-SÖĞÜTÖZÜ)
The line is 3106 meters lenght and consist of one station between from Söğütözü to Necatibey stations. Building and construction work started on 08.04.2003. Transferred to the Ministry of Transport with protocol dated 25.04.2011.
3. STEP (KIZILAY – KORU ARASI TAMAMLAMA İŞİ)
Kızılay-Çayyolu-2 is the line between stations 16 590 meters in length. This can even be incomplete line of 4884 meters and 4 station building and civil construction work started on 03.10.2005. Transferred to the Ministry of Transport with protocol dated 25.04.2011.
